FC 27 Coins: What We Know, and When the Market Actually Opens

FC 27 hasn't launched yet, and neither has its coin market, but the questions are already coming in, so here's the honest state of play. This page tracks what's confirmed, what's still expected, and what to ignore, and we'll update it as EA fills in the blanks. Anything below marked expected or projected is not yet officially confirmed — treat it as a well-informed estimate, not a promise.

What we know so far

EA runs the Ultimate Team (FUT) calendar on a repeating cadence, so most of the FC 27 timeline can be projected from prior cycles with reasonable confidence. Only the reveal and the dates EA formally announces should be treated as fixed.

  • Full release: expected Friday 25 September 2026. EA has shipped every recent edition on the last Friday of September, and 25 September fits that pattern. Treat it as the working date until EA confirms it.
  • Early access: expected ~18 September 2026. The Ultimate Edition usually unlocks about a week before the standard launch. Projected from the standard 7-day head start.
  • Web App: expected ~16 September 2026. The companion Web App normally opens a couple of days before early access, and as we explain below, this is the date that actually matters for coins.
  • Cover and gameplay reveal: expected mid-July 2026 (rumored). Reveals have landed in the second half of July in recent years. Until EA publishes it, this is the least certain date on the list.

We'll date-stamp changes as they land. The "Last updated" line at the top of this page moves whenever we revise it after an official announcement.

When the FC 27 coin market actually opens

Here's the thing most people get wrong: the coin market opens with the Web App, not on launch day. As soon as the Web App goes live, projected around 16 September, players can open packs, list cards on the transfer market, and move coins. That's the moment coins start changing hands, just over a week before the standard release.

For buyers, that has one practical consequence: demand and prices form during that early-access window, not on the 25th. If you're planning around FC 27, the calendar you care about starts in mid-September, and the market is already live and moving before most people have even installed the full game.

Do FC 26 coins transfer to FC 27?

No. Coin balances do not carry over. Every new edition starts your Ultimate Team from zero. Your FC 26 coins, your club, and your players stay in FC 26; they do not migrate into FC 27.

This isn't a bug or a policy you can appeal. It's how Ultimate Team has always worked. Each edition is a separate market with its own fresh start, which is also why coin prices reset so dramatically between cycles (more on that below). A handful of loyalty or returning-player rewards sometimes carry across editions, but a coin balance is never one of them. Plan on starting FC 27 with nothing.

What early-cycle prices look like

Expect FC 27 coins to be at their scarcest and most expensive in the opening weeks. At the start of a cycle almost nobody has a large stockpile, packs haven't yet built up much of a card supply on the market, and demand is at its annual peak as everyone races to build a squad. Scarce supply plus peak demand is the recipe for the highest prices of the year.

That early premium fades. As the months pass and more coins enter circulation, the general drift is downward, and the cheapest coins of a cycle almost never appear at launch. If you want the mechanics behind this, our breakdown of why coin prices move walks through the promo calendar, the season lifecycle, and how to read the market before you commit.

Buy FC 26 coins now, or wait for FC 27?

There's no single right answer here, and anyone pushing you hard in either direction is selling something. The trade-off:

  • FC 26 coins right now are cheap: you're near the end of a cycle, so supply is high and prices are soft. But they die with the cycle. Whatever you buy stays in FC 26 and does not transfer, so the value only counts if you're still actively playing FC 26 between now and the switch. And if you're still playing, prices are low enough that buying coins just to rip open a few packs for fun is well worth it — genuinely good packs cost next to nothing.
  • FC 27 coins won't exist to buy until the Web App opens — and early-cycle prices are covered above.

So it comes down to which game you're actually playing over the next couple of months. If you're winding down FC 26, spending more on it now makes little sense. If you're still deep in it, cheap end-of-cycle coins are genuinely cheap. The "get ready for day one" urgency you'll see elsewhere is manufactured — the FC 27 market isn't open yet.

Safety doesn't change with a new title

A new edition does not reset the risk. Buying coins breaks EA's User Agreement in FC 27 exactly as it does in FC 26, and the enforcement tools carry straight over: coin wipes, transfer-market bans, and in the worst cases account suspension. No method drops the risk to zero, and a "new game" is not a safer game.

If anything, the early-cycle rush is where careless delivery gets noticed fastest, because the transfer market is thin and anomalies stand out. Everything on our ban-risk page applies to FC 27 without a single word softened: the risk lives in how coins are delivered and who you buy from, not in which edition is on the box. The delivery method is still the decision that matters most.

Pre-order coin offers: what sellers are really promising

Some sellers already advertise "FC 27 coins" for pre-order. Be clear-eyed about what that offer actually is: a promise to deliver into a game that does not exist yet. There is no live FC 27 economy to source or move coins in until the Web App opens, so a pre-order is a paid IOU against a future date, not stock a seller is holding. Often it's simply SEO by those sites, and the product only goes live once it can physically be delivered — which is actually a fair, honest approach.

That doesn't make every pre-order a scam, but it stacks the risk in the seller's favor, so check the basics before you hand over money:

  • When exactly do they deliver? A credible offer ties delivery to the Web App opening, not a vague "at launch." If they can't name the mechanism, walk.
  • What's the refund position if the date slips or delivery can't happen? Get it in writing.
  • Are you paying now for delivery weeks later? Money down today for coins that can't move for weeks is the core risk. Price that in.
  • Red flags: countdown-timer pressure, "locked-in launch price" urgency, exact-looking prices for a market that doesn't exist yet, and any claim to already have FC 27 coins in stock.

None of this singles out any particular seller. It's the structure of a pre-order in a market that hasn't opened. When there's a real FC 27 market to measure, our live tracker will show actual prices across sellers rather than pre-launch guesses.

Platforms: Switch 2 joins the mix

FC 27 is expected to launch on Switch 2 alongside the current-gen consoles and PC. What's still unconfirmed is how its Ultimate Team market connects to the rest.

If Switch 2 runs a separate market, as some earlier Nintendo versions effectively did, then coin supply, prices, and delivery options there could differ from the PS/Xbox/PC market, and cross-platform assumptions wouldn't hold. Treat this as unconfirmed until EA details it; we flag it now so Switch 2 buyers know to check the specifics rather than assume it works the same as the PS/Xbox/PC market.

Frequently asked questions

When do FC 27 coins come out? The FC 27 coin market is expected to open with the Web App around 16 September 2026, just over a week before the standard 25 September release. Coins start moving the moment the Web App and early access go live, not on launch day. Those dates are projected from EA's usual calendar and not yet officially confirmed.

Can I buy FC 27 coins before release? Some sellers advertise pre-orders, but there's no live FC 27 economy to source coins in until the Web App opens, so a pre-order is a promise to deliver later, not stock a seller holds. If you go that route, pin down the delivery mechanism, the timing, and the refund terms first.

Do FC 26 coins transfer to FC 27? No. Coin balances never carry between editions. FC 27 starts your Ultimate Team from zero, so your FC 26 coins, club, and players stay in FC 26 and do not migrate.

Will FC 27 coins be cheaper at launch or later? Later. Coins are scarcest and most expensive in the opening weeks, when supply is thin and demand peaks. Prices generally drift down as the cycle goes on. If you're after cheap FC 27 coins, they show up later in the cycle, not at launch.

Is it safe to buy FC 27 coins? It carries the same risk as any edition: buying coins breaks EA's User Agreement, and penalties range from coin wipes to transfer bans to account suspension. A new title doesn't lower the risk. The delivery method and the seller do most of the work. See our full ban-risk breakdown.

What is the FC 27 Web App release date? Expected around 16 September 2026, based on EA's recent pattern of opening the companion Web App a couple of days before early access. It's the date that matters for coins, since the transfer market goes live then. Not yet officially confirmed.

Are FC 27 coins on Nintendo Switch 2 the same market as PC and consoles? Unconfirmed. Switch 2 is expected to join FC 27, but whether its Ultimate Team economy shares a market with PS/Xbox/PC or runs separately isn't clear yet. If it's separate, prices and delivery there could differ, so check the specifics before assuming it works the same as PS/Xbox/PC.

Should I buy FC 26 coins now or wait for FC 27? Depends on which game you're actually playing. FC 26 coins are cheap at end of cycle but stay in FC 26 and don't transfer, so they only pay off if you're still playing it. FC 27 coins won't exist to buy until the Web App opens and will be at their annual high point when they do. There's no day-one urgency to buy into.
